Small pieces of wool roving, called thrums, are inserted directly into the knitting. Today, they are cherished as much for their <strong data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"728\">handcrafted authenticity<\/strong> as for the <strong data-start=\"740\" data-end=\"760\">cozy comfort
