Introducing our new knitting pattern for double-layer alpaca mittens, designed to provide warmth and comfort. Featuring a durable outer layer made of alpaca, wool, and nylon, and a lining in 100% alpaca yarn, these mittens combine strength and softness—perfect for facing the coldest winter days.
⚠️ IMPORTANT ERRATUM – Double Layers Mittens Pattern
In the latest published version of the pattern (August 15, 2025), the asterisks indicating the stitch pattern repeats on the outer mitten were accidentally omitted.
As a result, some knitters may have skipped the stockinette stitches that are meant to precede the cable panel.
The decorative panel does not begin at stitch 1 of the round.
It is preceded by 2 (3, 4) knit stitches, depending on the chosen size, followed by 2 purl stitches.
This placement ensures that the cable panel is centered on the back of the hand, and the thumb sits in the stockinette portion, on the palm side.
If you began the motif right at the start of the round, your first mitten may appear fine — but the second (opposite hand) will likely have the motif misaligned, ending up partly on the palm.
A corrected version of the pattern is now available.
